Meet the JB Events team

  • Julie Rowlands

    Project Director

Julie heads up our Project Director team and is also our head Strategic Consultant. Julie is an events professional with over 20 years experience in the IT industry. Working mainly for Microsoft throughout her early career, initially as part of Microsoft’s fledgling UK subsidiary where her organisational skills and problem solving ability led her to a career in events (and to be involved in the running of every product launch of the Windows Operating system from version 3 through to Windows 2000!).

Julie headed up the Microsoft UK Event team for 5 years, during this time she was responsible for identifying and engaging the supplier base, setting up the purchasing model for over 20 event vendors, managing a full time team of 8 and freelance team of 10 who delivered the extensive and varied event programme of 200+ events per year, requiring an overall budget in excess of £8.5m.

In 2001, she traded her client role, to move to the agency side. Her main aim was to provide the type of Event Management Company that she would have wanted to work with as a client – JB Events was born! In addition to working with many areas of Microsoft including Microsoft EMEA, Microsoft Corporation and Microsoft Dynamics, she has led the delivery of many high quality executive events, multi-track conferences and large public events, for numerous other clients.

Julie’s key skill is in her ability to clearly communicate with all levels of executives within her client team as well as identifying, engaging and motivating individuals as part of a team to deliver excellent, first class event management, within budget to the client’s brief.

  • Paul Browne

    Project Director

Paul heads up our whole Technical team, a role that suits his background well...Paul started his career in marketing working for Loctite where he focussed on all areas of marketing delivery including events. Having been bitten by the live event bug Paul moved from the client side into the agency role in 1991, initially working in technical production, naturally progressing into the producer role.

He worked with various production agencies for a variety of clients in the retail, pharmaceutical, insurance and automotive industries for whom he delivered on a wide range of events including many large multi-faceted events, small and large conferences, AGM's, financial presentations, exhibitions and parties.

Since joining JB Events in 2002, Paul has focussed mainly on the retail industry and has gained extensive knowledge of this sector. In addition to his conference work, he has also delivered on many large scale public events, most notably the welcome home celebrations for over 20,000 people in Falmouth and Greenwich to celebrate Ellen Macarthur’s fastest sailing circumnavigation around the globe!

Paul’s focus on customer service, attention to detail, cost conscious attitude and excellent technical knowledge make him a firm favourite with all his clients.

  • Becky Eydes

As a result of her logistics background, Becky has built an extensive knowledge of venues across the Europe and Middle East regions and she has contacts at hundreds of hotel, conference and party venues, meaning that we’ll be able to find the right place for your event, no matter what the brief!

Over the last 2 years, Becky has also shown a real flair for parties!
