Julie heads up our Project Director team and is also our head Strategic Consultant. Julie is an events professional with over 20 years experience in the IT industry. Working mainly for Microsoft throughout her early career, initially as part of Microsoft’s fledgling UK subsidiary where her organisational skills and problem solving ability led her to a career in events (and to be involved in the running of every product launch of the Windows Operating system from version 3 through to Windows 2000!).
Julie headed up the Microsoft UK Event team for 5 years, during this time she was responsible for identifying and engaging the supplier base, setting up the purchasing model for over 20 event vendors, managing a full time team of 8 and freelance team of 10 who delivered the extensive and varied event programme of 200+ events per year, requiring an overall budget in excess of £8.5m.
In 2001, she traded her client role, to move to the agency side. Her main aim was to provide the type of Event Management Company that she would have wanted to work with as a client – JB Events was born! In addition to working with many areas of Microsoft including Microsoft EMEA, Microsoft Corporation and Microsoft Dynamics, she has led the delivery of many high quality executive events, multi-track conferences and large public events, for numerous other clients.
Julie’s key skill is in her ability to clearly communicate with all levels of executives within her client team as well as identifying, engaging and motivating individuals as part of a team to deliver excellent, first class event management, within budget to the client’s brief.
